The ESWC is moving to Metz for 3 years !

Tuesday 07 November 2017
The official announcement came during Paris Games Week, 31st October 2017: ESWC is moving to Metz for the next three editions from September 2018.
ESWC, organised by the French company Webedia (Jeuxvideo.com, Millenium, IGN, Mixicom, Toornament.com, PSG eSport), is the leading international event in electronic sport.

Based on the organisation of competitions reuniting the best players in the world and their supporters, relayed live over the internet and on TV, ESWC brings together each time tens of thousands of people, with millions of online supporters.

Strengthened by this international recognition, ESWC moves to cities that are developing innovative technological activities and contributes to the growth of the French video game industry.

From September 2018 and for three consecutive editions, ESWC has decided to set up base in Metz Metropole, with its European vantage point.  Metz Metropole and the Grand Est region are situated in an important cross-border area between France, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium.

In Metz Metropole, and particularly at the third place TCRM-Blida, a dynamic video game scene is developing with many private and associative actors (Mamytwink, Cluster East Games, Aux Frontières du Pixel, etc.), and the first French university laboratory dedicated to video games: Expressive GameLab at Lorraine University.

Under the banner “Art & Tech” of the brand Inspire Metz, ESWC will be first of the inaugural events of the new congress centre “Metz Congrès Robert Schuman”, overlooking the TGV train station (1 hour 20 from Paris) and opposite the Centre Pompidou-Metz. A sequence of inaugural events will be completed by #GEN, the business and digital rendezvous in the Grand Est region, which will be held for the first time at the new congress centre.
