85 minutes from Paris, 45 minutes from Luxembourg, 1 hour from Saarbrücken and Trier, between enchanted tradition and the magical lights of Europe.

Voted 3rd most beautiful Christmas market in Europe in 2023, for the year 2024, and first for families in the "European Best Christmas Markets" competition, the Metz Christmas market will be held, as it is every year, on 5 of the city's historic squares:

  • Place de la République, Place Saint-Jacques and Place Saint-Louis: from November 22 to December 30, 2024, 11am to 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Place de la République will also host a number of solidarity Christmas chalets, including a custom-built handicapped-accessible chalet (the first in France to cater for all types of disability), an operation supported by the CCAS. These 3 squares will be accessible until 6pm on December 24 and until 8pm on December 30. Closed on December 25.
  • Place de la Comédie: from November 22 to December 30, 2024, 5pm to 11pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 11pm Saturdays and Sundays. Closed on December 24 & 25. Open on December 30 from 4pm to 8pm.
  • Place d'Armes J.F. Blondel: from November 29 to December 30, 2024 (due to celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Metz), 11am to 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to 10pm Fridays and Saturdays. Closed on December 25. December 24: open until 6pm and until 8pm on December 30.

Coming to the Metz Christmas Market

Santa's Floating Sleigh
Renewed for a 2nd season due to its success, Santa's floating sleigh is a free electric river shuttle that transports passengers, including visitors who park in the Saint-Symphorien sports complex parking lot, from the Plan d'O refreshment stand to the new pontoon below Moyen-Pont. If you're lucky, you might even meet Santa Claus on board! This stroll along the waterfront allows you to admire the Sentier des lanternes, the cathedral, the Temple Neuf, as well as the new illuminations on the Ile du Saulcy.
November 22 to December 30, 4pm to 9pm.
